NEON’s high-speed DFB DML laser diode modules include the NY13D, NY15D, NYCMD, and NY55D series, each designed for different advanced fiber optic communication applications.
NY13D, NY15D, and NYCMD Series
These are directly modulated DFB laser modules engineered for linear fiber optic communications across very wide bandwidths. They are excellent alternatives to coaxial cable systems for transmitting 12 GHz or 18 GHz signals, delivering superior signal quality and reliability. By transmitting RF signals in their original format, they enhance performance in applications such as antenna remoting, telemetry, timing, reference signal distribution, measurement, and delay lines.
NY55D Series
The NY55D high-power DFB laser diode is designed as a wavelength-selected continuous-wave (CW) optical source for use with external modulators in CATV and DWDM networks. It is particularly suitable for super trunking and distribution applications.
Supports ITU Grid-compliant wavelengths (range and channel definition).
Provides high optical output power up to 100 mW.
Antenna Remoting
Cellular and PCS Networks
Analog RF Link Transmission
Military Communications
Tracking, Telemetry & Control
High Dynamic Range
Up to 18 GHz Bandwidth
Low Threshold Current
High Output Power
Wide Operating Temperature: -40℃ to +70℃
Excellent Reliability
When the injection current of the DFB laser diode module varies with the modulation signal, the carrier concentration in the laser cavity changes accordingly. This variation alters the optical gain in the active region, causing the optical output power of the module to follow the modulation signal precisely.
Excellent wavelength stability
Superior linearity
Wide wavelength coverage
High modulation precision
Reliable performance for demanding environments
