  • In Path of Exile, one of the first decisions you have to make is which class you want to play. One more class is unlocked during the campaign, bringing the total number of classes to seven. Consider the fantasy role you want to play before deciding on a class. You can use any class to cast spells, shoot arrows, or bash a zombie's head in with a hammer — but some classes are better at one thing than others. You'll be better prepared for class selection if you already have a sense of which of those three playstyles you'd like to excel in.

    THE ADVANTAGES OF EACH CLASS
Associated with each of the six classes in Path of Exile is a specific stat. A Marauder, for example, has a higher starting Strength than other classes, which means he deals more physical damage to enemies and is more difficult to kill than other classes. Dexterity is defined by its ability to move quickly, accurately, and evade obstacles. Intelligence provides improved critical attacks as well as a larger energy shield, which is particularly useful for protecting the more fragile caster classes. Here's a breakdown of which stat or stats each class is particularly strong at:

Dexterity and strength are required to be a good duelist.
The Duelist is an expert with swords or axes. He employs a combination of Dexterity and Strength attacks in order to avoid damage while also striking hard. In his early skills, he has the option of choosing between attack speed and cheap poe items.

    Marauder (in terms of strength)
The Marauder is a difficult opponent to take down, and his mace-like weapons deal significant damage. He has access to powerful two-handed melee skills as well as defensive skills near his starting location on the Passive Skill Tree, which makes him a dangerous opponent.

Ranger (dexterity) is a character in the game.
Using bows, the Ranger deals all of her damage, and she is all about striking quickly and from a safe distance. She can make early investments in attack speed and evasion to give her a competitive advantage.

Shadow (Dexterity and Intelligence) is a character in the game Shadow.
The Shadow fights with daggers or claws in addition to his POE Curreny and magical abilities. Early in the game, he has the option of investing in Chaos magic and attack speed.

    Templar (Wisdom and Strength)
The Templar uses large sticks to either bludgeon his opponents or cast spells at them. Early in the game, he has the option to invest in magic and physical defense skills.

    (Intelligence) Witch
The Witch fights with wands or scepters in her arsenal. Critical attacks deal a lot of spell damage, and she has the ability to invest early in minion and spell skills. After completing the campaign and rescuing the Scion, you will be able to access the seventh class in Path of Exile: The Beginning.

Scion (Dexterity, Intelligence, and Strength) is a magical creature.
The Scion's stats are completely balanced, and she starts in the middle of the Passive Skill Tree, which is a good place to be. She's essentially a blank canvas on which you can paint whatever you want. Given her even stats, she is a difficult class to learn. Aside from your stats, the class you choose determines where you begin on the difficult Passive Skill Tree.

Bonuses are available for your character through the Passive Skill Tree. Each time you level up, you have the option to choose a new skill node and add it to your skill tree. Following the selection of a class, you are unable to change your starting node.

However, you have the option to completely reroute your path and enter the Passive Skill Tree area of another class. In order to get to a Marauder's passive area and claim their skills, a Templar must spend significantly more points than the Marauder to do so. However, the Scion begins in the middle of the tree and can quickly branch off into any of the class trees. Any ability in the game can be used by any class at any time. Some of the advanced classes, on the other hand, increase the power of specific types of abilities.
