The World of Warcraft Classic expansion is now available. The Burning Crusade has been available for play for nearly two weeks. But how did things go at the outset? Spoiler alert: Due to distributed denial of service (DDOS) attacks, the experience is not entirely smooth.
Burning Crusade is an expansion pack for the MMO Grandpa. World of Warcraft was released in 2007 and has had a significant impact on the genre for many years. The gates to Outland, which had been closed for months, reopened two weeks ago. On June 1, 2021, at exactly midnight, the World of Warcraft Classic server was seamlessly replaced, allowing millions of adventurous players access to the Hellfire Peninsula. But how did things go at the outset?
Thousands of players gathered in front of the Dark Portal in the Devastated Lands just hours before it opened.
The atmosphere was tense, especially on PvP servers, as both Horde and Alliance players scrambled to gain control of the single access point and thus be the first to travel to the new areas and earn WoW TBC Classic gold for sale. While many brave heroes were hoping for a massive battle with thousands of other players for the Dark Portal on launch day, Blizzard was foresighted enough to divide the worlds into different layers. Fans were able to visit the hotly contested Devastated Lands in smaller groups on instanced servers, which improved the overall server stability. But, of course, the great mass battle ended up in the water.
