  I am constantly asking the same question. Imo, slayer is no any where near as effective as it used to be (just observed what happened to whips). Abby demons are camping at abby in order to kill 75-125+ only for the 900k-1.5mil drop?? For a 3mil drop, it would be a bit different.
  
  I merch items with large buy limits (10k-25k). I tend to flip. I concentrate on foods or runes, as well as pots. I also track a few objects that I am aware of crash every so often and make money off that too. I'm always changing the expensive weaponry and armours I use in order to keep my cash and earn more occasionally. I've sold my bgs just before it crashed to 8 mi, sold my fury before it crashed, then purchased one for 13 mil . I auctioned it off for 14.5 mil. The claws were purchased, lent at 1 mil each and sold. Since armour and weaponry generally go through a spiral down, its good to have a plan like that.
  
  I cant flip barrows or any weapon or armour piece for this matter with ease. Tips? I'll purchase almost any item that someone is trying to sell quickly and then make a profit off it. For example, my fury. I also made 150k off someone who was rushing to sell his whip on the market for 1 mil. Similar to that.
